The course covers the application of PSCAD for power system modeling, analysis, and protection. The course can apply to beginner as well as advanced students of electrical and computer engineering. An application that is covered under the course is AC transient, fault analysis, power system components protection, transformer saturation study, PSCAD modeling of synchronous generator, transmission line, and transformer with practical examples. A detailed analysis of the impact of renewable energy sources will be conducted in the course at the end. This is a theory and hands-on-based course. The course used the PSCAD demo version software for hands-on exercises.
